Our family-owned business was established in 1886then purchased by Margaret Lyons in the early 1940’s. Ted Lyons joined the agency after serving the Navy in World War II. In 1981, Ted’s son, Mike, joined the business to continue serving families and businesses like yours. Mike is a 1981 graduate of Ball State University with bachelor degrees in finance and insurance. He married his wife, Denita, in 1986 and together raised three children. In 1986 Mike obtained his Certified Residential appraiser license and is a member of the Appraisal Institute. In his spare time he likes to travel, play golf and attend various sporting events.

Denita is a 1982 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. After a 30 year career with a global Property & Casualty insurance company in Richmond, she joined the family business in 2012. Her favorite activities, beside family time, include traveling, knitting/crocheting and golfing.
